[update] Aachen: Short summary of the 6th and 7th session

Short summary of the 6th session (2/3/17)

In the session on the 2nd of March the first witness was a maintenance worker of the building in which the bank is situated, who has his “workshop” in the -1 floor of the private parking lot of the building. That morning he heard sounds of doors and people, but without really being able to tell which door it was, since there are various doors that connect the parking lot to the stairs of the apartment and the bank. For all of these a key is needed to enter but not to exit. He found a black hat on the floor which he handed over to the police when he realised there had been a robbery.

Then an elderly couple who live in the building testified. That morning they were in the parking lot starting their car and in the rear-view mirror they saw four young people between 20-25 years old, wearing dark clothes and looking as if they had come from a night out, who headed towards the street. Later on the road they thought they saw a couple doing something on the ground with a bag next to a car that was parked in a handicapped spot. In that moment they did not think much of it, but upon returning and seeing a lot of police they told the cops what they had seen.

The final witness has an ophthalmology office in the building; when going in to work she passed four men in the staircase who were taking off clothes but were wearing clothes underneath. She paid special attention to a person who did not wear a wig, nor glasses, nor a mask, and indicated that this person was not present in the court room. Moreover, in the street she saw someone leaving on a bicycle and another person (at first she remembered a women but she was not sure anymore) locking a bike with a chain.

None of the witnesses recognised anyone present (also not the two accused comrades).

Furthermore an excerpt of the summary about the two air guns was read out, concerning the italian manufacturing, caliber, characteristics, etc.

The next session will take place on the 6th of March at 9 in the morning.

Short summary of the 7th session (6/3/17)

In the session on the 6th of March 4 workers of the bank testified.

The first witness was not present during the robbery but had closed the safe the previous day. She talked about the sum of money taken in euros and other currency. Her testimony was very short.

The second person who testified had been responsible for the “security” of the bank. He remembered a woman and at least two men. As for the woman, without wig, without glasses and with green/brown eyes. She spoke German with an accent (without being able to specify from where). A man with a blonde wig and in general all of them not very tall. He was not able to give a lot of details, since he almost did not remember anything.

The third witness works at one of the “boxes” of the bank. At the time he said he would recognise some of the assailants if he were to see them again. And that their attitude was quite tough. He also said that the woman was between 30 and 35 years of age. In his testimony he acknowledged that at this stage he could almost not remember any details of that day, that to him it seemed the woman is more or less 28 years old, that he does not recognise anyone present, and that in his memory the assailants were very nice and almost “sympathetic”.

The last to testify also works as a cashier. She was sure that there were 6 assailants. Certainly a woman and a man, and in relation to the others she was not sure whether all had been men. She remembered a woman with a wig and glasses, with greyish skin, and a brown man (at the time she told the police that perhaps he was mexican) with a blonde wig. The men were all short and she thought that one of them could be between 50-60 years old. The others were all very young, about 20 or 20 and something years old. At the time of the robbery she heard the robbers talk and it seemed a language from Eastern Europe. When she went home that day she heard people from Romania speak at a traffic light and thought they spoke the same as the assailants, which is why she  told the police that it could have been people from this country.

The next session will be on the 9th of March at 9 in the morning.
